SUMMARY:Celebrate! 170 Years of the Amana Colonies
DESCRIPTION:The Amana Colonies are thrilled to announce “Celebrate! 170 Years of the Amana Colonies\,” an all-community event on Wednesday\, September 3\, 2025\, commemorating our rich heritage and vibrant future. The celebration will feature a dynamic performance by the GRAMMY-nominated Alex Meixner Band\, bringing a unique blend of exhilarating musical styles to this historic community.  Join us from near and far to celebrate with friends both old and new! \n  \nDoors open at 5:00 PM at the Festhalle Barn (4707 220th Trail\, Amana)\, with Cedar Rapid’s famous County Line BBQ serving dinner from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. A cash bar will be available. The highlight of the evening will be the performance by the Alex Meixner Band from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  We will have kids’ activities from 5PM to 7PM. \n  \nFind Tickets Here! \nTicket Information: \n\nCommunity Ticket BBQ Dinner & Performance: $40 per person (ages 14 and up); $20 for kids under 14. His global performances include prestigious events like The National Folk Festival and Central Park SummerStage\, as well as countless community celebrations. Meixner’s virtuosic yet delightfully quirky style has led to collaborations with diverse artists\, including Jack Black in the film “The Polka King\,” and renowned avant-garde accordionist/composer Guy Klucevsek. His recording “Polka FreakOut” with Brave Combo’s Bubba Hernandez earned him a GRAMMY nomination. Alex Meixner Band shows expertly blend traditional Central European party music with contemporary influences\, promising an engaging and joyful experience for all ages. \nThe Amana Colonies are a group of seven villages that were founded by German Pietists in 1855.
