1923 Fire Centennial Commemoration

At Noon on August 11, 1923 a fire caused by a dust explosion at the Amana Flour Mill destroyed 13 buildings between the Four Mill and Woolen Mill complexes. Join us on the 100th Anniversary of the fire to learn more about the Flour and Woolen Mills and how the fire affected the Amana Community.

On Friday, August 11, 2023 from 5pm-7pm the Amana Heritage Museum will be open with free admission to showcase the special exhibit, 1923: The Fire That Sparked the Great Change.”
